A Mountain Home woman has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation into alleged illegal activity at a local massage business. According to a probable cause affidavit, 55-year-old Lihua Yu is charged with criminal use of property or laundering criminal proceeds, a Class C felony, and promoting prostitution in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Authorities say the Mountain Home Police Department began investigating after receiving complaints about possible sexual activity at Asian Sunny Massage. On October 2, an undercover officer visited the business, posing as a customer and purchasing a 30-minute massage. Following the session, the officer engaged Yu in a conversation about sexual favors, during which the two exchanged messages through an app on Yu’s phone and agreed on $100 for a sexual act. The officer left before any act occurred. Police executed a search warrant at the business on October 16, seizing multiple checkbooks tied to different accounts, cash, credit card receipts, handwritten ledgers, and two cell phones. Homeland Security investigators later discovered the phone number used by Yu was connected to more than 1,300 adult escort websites. Yu was taken into custody and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 20, with bond set at $10,000.
