
On October 9, 2025, Ethan Shannon, age 32 of Birch Tree, was arrested on a Douglas County Warrant for Endangering the welfare of a Child, Abuse or Neglect of a Child, and Tampering with a Victim in Felony Prosecution, bond was set at $5000 cash only.

On October 16, 2025, Jared Christensen, age 48 of Mountain Grove, was arrested on a Douglas County Grand Jury Indictment for Tampering with a Witness in a Felony Prosecution and Harassment 1st Degree.
The indictment surrounded an investigation conducted by Sgt. Box in October of 2023. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.

On October 9, 2025, Douglas County Deputy Shane Harden made a traffic stop on a vehicle for having a headlight out. Jared Day, age 43 of Ava, was the passenger, and the driver was Preston Dobbs, age 49 of Ava. There was also a 7-year-old child asleep in the back seat of the vehicle.
Dobbs was arrested for not having a driver’s license, and a vehicle inventory was performed prior to the vehicle being towed. Located within the vehicle was a magnetic box containing methamphetamine found in close proximity to the child sleeping in the back.
A warrant was issued for Jared Day for Possession of a Controlled substance-methamphetamine, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only. Day is still incarcerated.
A warrant was issued for Dobbs for Possession of a Controlled substance-methamphetamine, endangering the welfare of a child, operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance, and failure to equip the vehicle with 2 approved headlights. Bond was set at $2500 cash only. Dobbs has since posted bond.


On October 8, 2025, Taylor Dencklau age 24 of Ozark, was arrested on two Douglas County warrants.
The first was for Domestic Assault 2nd degree and Abuse of the Elderly, Disabled or Vulnerable person. The case was investigated by Sgt. Box with bond being set at No Bond.
The second warrant was Domestic Assault 2nd Degree that occurred on June 17,2025, and was investigated by Deputy Wilson. No bond was set in this case.

On October 16, 2025, Sgt. Box, Deputy D. Martin, and Deputy Pueppke were dispatched to a residence on WW Highway for a report of a Domestic Assault.
Upon arrival, they located the suspect, Cheri Newark, near the alleged victim’s property. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that Newark was intoxicated and began assaulting her paramour. During the altercation in the victim’s vehicle as he was driving, Newark struck the victim multiple times in the head with a pair of garden shears, causing him to bleed.
The victim exited the vehicle and ran; however, Newark got into the driver’s seat of his vehicle and attempted to run him over.
Cheri Newark, Age 48 of Norwood, was placed on a 24-hour hold, resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest for Domestic Assault 1st, and Armed Criminal Action. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
