A multi-state recall has been issued for eggs distributed by an Arkansas-based company due to possible Salmonella contamination. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall involves Black Sheep Egg Company of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. The agency initiated an inspection at the company’s processing facility late last month, where environmental samples were collected for testing. Officials say 40 of those samples tested positive for Salmonella, prompting the company to recall its Free Range Large Grade A Brown Eggs sold in 12-count and 18-count cartons. The affected products carry UPCs 860010568507 and 860010568538, with best-by dates ranging from August 22 to October 31. Consumers who purchased the recalled eggs are urged not to eat them and to return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
