A man has been arrested following the theft of a vehicle from a business lot in West Plains earlier this week. According to the West Plains Police Department, a 2013 Chrysler 200 valued at $5,500 was reported stolen from a business in the 400 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard in the early morning hours of October 23. Surveillance footage showed a man, later identified as John Pehanich, entering the lot around 12:40 a.m. and driving away in the vehicle just two minutes later. Officers located the stolen car later that afternoon at a business along U.S. Highway 63. Inside the vehicle, investigators found paperwork with Pehanich’s name and a poncho matching the one seen in the surveillance footage. Pehanich was taken into custody at 12:48 a.m. on October 24. His bond has been set at $5,000.
