Mountain Home bicyclist seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle

A Mountain Home man was seriously injured last Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Baxter County. The Arkansas State Police have not released the name of the 47-year-old victim. According to the report, a truck driven by a 19-year-old Mountain Home man was traveling on Arkansas Highway 126 near the entrance to the McClain Hitting Barn when it struck the bicyclist, who was riding without lights. The bicycle came to rest in a ditch, and the rider was thrown from it. The accident occurred at 6:39 p.m. Friday. The victim was transported to Baxter Health for treatment.
