A Houston man is facing charges after authorities say repeated threats prompted a lockdown at a local nursing facility late last Wednesday night. According to online court records, 28-year-old Jacob Leon Evans, has been charged with first-degree making a terrorist threat. The probable cause statement says the Licking Police Department responded to the facility around 11 p.m. after staff reported receiving multiple threatening calls from Evans. A licensed practical nurse told officers Evans called the facility 11 times over a 30-minute span, claiming he was outside and threatening to kill everyone if he wasn’t allowed to speak with a nursing assistant. As officers arrived, Evans reportedly continued calling. Law enforcement answered and identified themselves, at which point Evans allegedly said he had killed the victim’s dog and would kill the officer or anyone who got in his way if he was not allowed to speak with her. The victim told officials she made arrangements to stay elsewhere with her children due to fear after hearing what Evans had allegedly done to her dog. Police say the threats forced the facility which housed 40 residents and three staff members at the time into full lockdown until officers confirmed Evans was no longer in the area. Evans was arrested and booked into the Texas County Jail. His bond was set at $3,000.
