
Two people were injured in a crash during the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in Butler County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around one mile west of Van Buren on Highway 60. Troopers said a 2026 Chevrolet Trax, driven by an 18-year-old man from Scott City, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. The driver and a 33-year-old female passenger from Oran each sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital for treatment.
