One of the top defensive standouts in the SEC is taking the next step, as Missouri linebacker Josiah Trotter has declared for the NFL Draft following his lone season with the Missouri Tigers. Trotter, a redshirt sophomore, earned First Team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches and was named Second Team All-SEC by the Associated Press. He transferred to Missouri after spending two seasons at West Virginia and quickly became a key piece of the Tigers’ defense. During the 2025 season, Trotter led Missouri in tackles with 84, including 43 solo stops. He also ranked second on the team in tackles for loss with 13, anchoring a Tigers defense that relied heavily on his range and instincts. ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. currently ranks Trotter as the sixth-best draft-eligible off-ball linebacker, positioning him as one of the top linebacker prospects heading into the upcoming draft.
