Two Ava residents were arrested Thursday morning after law enforcement executed a narcotics search warrant at an apartment on East Grand Avenue. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Ava police served the warrant around 7 a.m. on January 15 at a residence occupied by 57-year-old Lisa Storey-Ransom and 55-year-old Kevin Hansen. Investigators say the warrant was obtained after Storey-Ransom tested positive for methamphetamine and admitted the drug was inside the apartment. During the search, deputies located two baggies containing crystal-like residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, along with digital scales, small baggies commonly used for distribution, and a snort straw. Both Storey-Ransom and Hansen were taken into custody at the scene. Authorities say Hansen admitted methamphetamine was in the apartment and later tested positive for methamphetamine and other substances. Storey-Ransom also tested positive following her arrest. Both individuals are charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. They were booked into the Douglas County Jail pending court proceedings.
