
A man from Salem is facing felony charges following an investigation at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking. According to authorities, an officer with the Licking Police Department responded to the facility at approximately 2:23 p.m. January 30, 2026, after receiving a report of an employee attempting to bring a prohibited item into the prison. During the investigation, officers determined that Corie Buckner, 37, of Salem, possessed and delivered a marijuana vape pen inside the correctional center. Buckner was transported to the Texas County Justice Center, where he was booked and later released. He has been charged with Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Correctional Center, a Class D felony under Missouri law.
