HS Softball: Lady Bobcats Explode for Nine-Run Third in 17-1 Rout of Dora
Dora, MO — March 30, 2026 — A massive third inning powered the Thayer Lady Bobcats to a dominant 17-1 win over Dora on Monday.
Thayer broke the game wide open with nine runs in the third, stringing together timely hits and capitalizing on opportunities at the plate. Kadyn Hilles, McKenzie Morris, Savannah Jackson, and Brette Tharp all delivered RBI knocks in the inning, while Crystal Edwards and Brilee Ball helped keep the rally rolling.
The Lady Bobcats wasted no time getting started, plating six runs in the first inning behind a mix of aggressive base running and timely hitting. Hattie Haynes drove in a run, while Ball highlighted the early surge with a bases-clearing double.
In the circle, Morris was in control throughout, allowing just one unearned run on four hits across five innings while striking out nine.
Thayer finished with 13 hits on the day, with Ball leading the way with four RBIs. Ball, Edwards, Tharp, Haynes, and Morris each recorded two hits, while the Lady Bobcats also showed patience at the plate with nine walks. Hilles, Edwards, and Haynes each drew two free passes.
Defensively, Thayer turned two double plays to keep Dora off balance.
Haley Perkins led Dora with two hits from the leadoff spot.
With the win, the Lady Bobcats carry momentum into Tuesday’s road matchup at Bakersfield.
The Thayer Lady Bobcats capture their 4th Cabool Round Robin Tournament in a row with a dominate win over the Liberty Lady Eagles. 15-0
