THAYER, MO — Senior Miley Johnston, a four-year standout and leader for Thayer Bobcat Cheer, officially signed her commitment to continue her academic and cheer career at Lyon College.
Johnston has been a cornerstone of the Bobcats’ program throughout her career, earning a long list of honors while helping guide the team to consistent success.
As a freshman (2022-23), she was named an NCA All-American Nominee and received the Spirit Award. She followed that with a strong sophomore campaign (2023-24), earning Academic All-State honors from MCCA, along with the Outstanding Leadership Award, Captain Award, and Top Base Award.
Her junior season (2024-25) brought even more recognition, including Academic All-State (MCCA), UCA All-American Nominee, NCA All-American, Outstanding Base, and another Leadership/Captain Award.
As a senior, Johnston helped lead Thayer to a third-place finish at the Kansas City Regional Co-Ed Cheer Competition and an eighth-place finish at the Class 1-3 State Cheer Competition. She also earned Academic All-State honors from MCCA and was recognized with the Captain, Legacy, and Bobcat Awards.
Johnston will continue her career at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, a private liberal arts institution known for its small class sizes and strong academic environment.
