On Saturday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in Western Douglas County. The search warrant stemmed from a joint investigation with the Children’s Division.  The Children’s Division had received information about concerns regarding the well-being of an infant child and its care. There were also reports of illegal drug use by the mother. After several attempts to make contact and verify the safety of the child, the mother refused to answer the door, and the Sheriff’s Department applied for and received a search warrant for the residence. Upon serving the search warrant, the mother and child were located in the residence. Methamphetamine was seized inside the residence. The child was taken into custody and placed with its father.

39-year-old Rebecca Frye, of Sparta, was taken into custody, where an arrest warrant was issued for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. Bond was set at $1500 cash only.
