The Highway Patrol reports that 63-year-old Edwin Bettis was injured when he attempted to make a turn and was hit by a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Christy Casey of Alton. The accident happened on Highway 19, two miles north of Alton. Bettis was flown to Cox South.
