  • Howell County Sheriff Brent Campbell visited the West Plains Middle School Tuesday morning to engage students in a meaningful discussion on the risks associated with social media activity. The visit educated students about the consequences of social media threats, posts, and reposts and served as a proactive measure to address growing concerns surrounding online behavior among our students.
  • In addition to the middle school visit, assemblies were held at West Plains High School to address the same critical topics. These assemblies were held to help students understand the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful online presence.
  • The initiative reflects the commitment of the Howell County Sheriff’s Department to prioritize the safety and well-being of the community by proactively addressing challenges in the digital age.
  • “As your Sheriff, it’s my duty to ensure your safety extends to the digital realm. Our discussions today weren’t just about ‘likes’ and ‘shares,’ but about protecting yourselves and each other online. Remember, every post has power, and with great power comes great responsibility.” – Sheriff Brent Campbell.
