A man from Houston Missouri was injured in a motorcycle accident north of Success. 61-year-old David Simmons suffered serious injuries when he hit a deer in the roadway and was ejected from the motorcycle. Simmons was flown to Cox South in Springfield. The accident happened on Missouri 17, five miles north of Success.
A woman from Ava suffered serious injuries in an accident Wednesday morning in Douglas County. The Highway Patrol reports that 44-year-old Amber Fielder-Smith was injured when she drove off the road and hit a culvert, then overturned the SUV she was driving. Smith was taken to Cox South in Springfield. The accident happened on AJ Highway, two miles north of Rome.
Two people were injured in an accident in Wright County, Wednesday evening. 25-year-old Amanda Nugent of Plato suffered moderate injuries and 50-year-old Amy Hawkins of Plato suffered minor injuries when Hawkins drove off the road and overturned the vehicle she was driving. A man from Gainesville was injured and faces charges following an accident in Gainesville. 20-year-old Auden Vaneperen suffered moderate injuries when he hit a parked vehicle, then overturned his vehicle and hit another parked vehicle. Vanperen was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. He was also charged with DWI-drugs and no seatbelt. The accident happened on Third Street in Gainesville.
