
Strong storms moved across southern Missouri and northern Arkansas on Thursday. There were several reports of power outages and trees down and some minor damage. North Arkansas Electric reported as many as 5,000 members were without power at one time, more than 3,300 in Baxter County and more than 1,500 in Fulton County. Howell-Oregon Electric Coop reported as many as 240 members were without power at one time last night. Trees were reported down throughout the area. Weather spotters reported wind speeds of up to 70 MPH in the Brandesville area in Howell County. Trees were reported down in the City of West Plains. A garage door was blown off a building in Douglas County. More than 20 power poles were blown down in the Flippin area and Highway 178 was closed for a while because of lines down on the highway. Entergy reported more than 2,300 members were without power in Marion County. There have been no reports of any injuries from the storms.
