Last Tuesday, the Mountain View City Council opened up their regular meeting. Twelve minutes later, one member was removed from the City Council leaving only two seats filled. Mayor Jim Krasuski announced to the council that he had spoken to independent counsel on nepotism regarding Missouri state law. The mayor announced that the city council was wrong in allowing Alderman Brenda Colter to vote on the appointment of Judi Colder. The law was then read aloud by city attorney Deedra Nicholson, citing the relationship between the two Colter cousins by marriage, which made Judi Colter’s appointment a violation of state law.
