As the weather becomes warmer and drier in the coming days and weeks, Mark Twain National Forest personnel expect ideal conditions for conducting prescribed burning operations.  In spite of these controlled burns, ECNN listeners should be made aware of at least three confirmed fires along Highway 19 this morning.  ECNN estimates flames are no taller than two or three feet- one southbound fire and two northbound fires including one just over the Oregon-Shannon County line. While no vehicles or personnel could be seen at any of these fires, authorities in Oregon and Shannon Counties were notified and they confirm to ECNN that the Forest Service was aware of those fires.
