The Highway Patrol reports that 25-year-old Matthew Shaw suffered serious injuries when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Emily Mitchell of Fenton was blocking two lanes of traffic on Interstate 55 with no exterior lights, due to a previous crash. Shaw did not see the vehicle and hit the vehicle. Shaw was taken to Mercy Hospital.
