School Officials in Pocahontas in a news release said that a BB Gun and unloaded pistol were found in a student’s vehicle after students reported overhearing comments about the gun being in a vehicle. Superintendant Daryl Blaxton said a BB gun was found inside the vehicle and a locked box was also found. The Student said she did not have the key to the box, so officers had to pry it open and found a .22 caliber pistol inside, but no ammo was found for the pistol. The Student was taken into custody. The School says at no time were any students or staff in any danger.
