A former Mountain Home man already in trouble after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 13-year-old, which he recorded, gets an additional 50 years in prison.

According to Dunklin County Prosecutor Nicholas Jain, 43-year-old Matthew Prewett was sentenced Wednesday following his guilty plea of one count of first degree statutory rape, and eight counts of invasion of privacy- now facing a total of 27 charges in Missouri.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, who was living in Kennett at the time of the crimes, engaged in sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl beginning in April of 2022 and recorded the crimes on video- via hidden cameras found by investigators throughout his residence in Kennett, including in the bathroom and living room.

In another instance, a victim disclosed to authorities they had sex with Prewett twice, stating that Prewett sent her a text saying if they were ever caught, the two would obtain false identification and go to Mexico.

Prewett was sentenced to 20 years in prison in February after he pled guilty to a federal charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.
