Luckily no one was injured Tuesday morning when a train hit a car at the intersection of Bratton Avenue and county road 8240 in West Plains. According to reports a car driven by 79 year old Violet Collins of West Plains got stuck on the track when she turned too hard while crossing the track and her vehicle became wedged on the track, Collins, a passenger and a child all were able to get out of the car before the train hit. The Passenger, 24 year old Donald Kramer allegedly said he thought that Collins might have been blinded by the lights of another vehicle and turned too hard. The Train hit the car a pushed it about 70 yards. The accident happened around 6:30 Tuesday morning. Several crossing in town were closed for about an hour and half.
