Officials with the West Plains R-7 School District announce Zane Johnson has been selected as the new director of bands. Johnson is currently the band director at Mtn. View-Birch Tree School District.
Johnson is a 2017 graduate of West Plains High School. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He is also pursuing a Master’s in Education.
Johnson will begin the position on July 1.
