WEST PLAINS, MO: Arbor Day literally translates to “tree day,” a tradition started in 1872 as a support to the Conservation Movement that is celebrated in the United States on the last Friday of April during spring planting seasons. This year, as part of the Ozark Spring, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s (Ozark Spring, NSDAR) Chapter Regents 2024 Project for Lincoln School, the Daughters planted a White Dogwood tree purchased from West Plains Greenhouses and Nursery. Mr. Crockett W. Oaks, III, Co-Owner of Lincoln School, assisted in planting of the tree and placement of the plaque memorializing the event. Ozark Spring, NSDAR challenges everyone to plant a tree this spring and become a part of the sustainability project of our natural resources.
