Two Ava residents were among four people seriously injured in an accident east of Carthage, Sunday morning. The Highway Patrol reports that 73-year-old Frank Potter and 71-year-old Francis Potter both from Ava were injured when a vehicle driven by Michael Roycroft of New Zealand attempted to turn off Highway 96 and turned into the path of the vehicle that Frank Potter drove. A passenger in Potter’s vehicle, 67-year-old Jaylonn Baxter of Niangua and Roycroft also suffered serious injuries in the accident. All four were taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
A 13-year-old Willow Springs boy was injured in an ATV accident Sunday morning south of Willow Springs. the boy suffered serious injuries when a 9-year-old boy attempted to make a turn and overturned the ATV, ejected both himself and the 13-year-old. The boy was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. the accident happened on private property off Railroad Drive a half mile south of Willow Springs
A woman from Louisianna was injured in an accident Saturday afternoon south of Summersville. The Highway Patrol says that 67-year-old Nancy Cooley suffered moderate injuries when the vehicle she was driving was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old William Grammer of Summersville. Cooley was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The accident happened on Missouri Highway 17, three miles south of Summersville.
A man from Hardy was injured in an accident south of Ash Flat on Friday. 56-year-old David Cutler was injured when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving on a curve, ran off the road, and struck a tree. The accident happened on Highway 167 a mile south of Ash Flat.
A 12-year-old boy from Alton was injured in an ATV accident south of Alton. The Highway Patrol reports the boy suffered minor injuries when he ran off the roadway overturned and was ejected from the ATV. The Boy was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. The accident happened on County Road 210, four miles south of Alton.
Two Ellsinore residents suffered serious injuries in an accident west of Ellsinore last week. 80-year-old Carol Gore and 30-year-old Wesley Smith were both injured when Smith turned into the path of the vehicle that Gire was driving. Both drivers were flown to St Louis Hospitals. The accident happened on U.S. 60 one mile west of Ellsinore.
