
A Cherokee Village man is in jail; the charge…hit-and-run.
According to the Cherokee Village Police Department, Wednesday night around 9:03, officers responded to a call of a woman who had been run over by a vehicle.
The person who phoned in the incident said a red pick-up truck had pulled into the alleged victim’s driveway and the occupants got out of the vehicle.
Police say that when the caller opened the woman’s garage Police said when the caller opened her garage door, a man, later identified as 25-year-old Justin Hale, jumped back into the truck, and sped away, running over the woman. She was airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock with serious injuries- her condition is currently unknown.
The truck was found abandoned on Nine Mile Ridge Road- Hale was found by police and taken into custody, booked into the Sharp County Jail on several charges including assault and battery and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
