The Willow Springs Police reported that a man was arrested in May after he allegedly fired a handgun into an unoccupied vehicle. Police were called to West Business 60/63 and arrested Hershel Meshell who according to reports was intoxicated. Meshell allegedly went to the residence and fired a handgun into a parked vehicle three times. The handgun used in the incident was also found to be an illegal firearm. Meshell was charged with Discharging a Firearm into a Motor Vehicle, and Armed Criminal Action. The bond was set at $100,000.
