A man who was thrown from a vehicle during an argument with his girlfriend Wednesday in Ozark County has died. Mark Ault was thrown from the vehicle and then taken to Cox Medical Center in Springfield where he died on Thursday. Authorities say his Girlfriend, Shannon Lori Collins, was attempting to leave and Ault was standing on the running boards of the truck, Collins allegedly accelerated then slammed on the brakes, throwing Ault over the hood of the truck, and landing on his head. Collins fled the scene and was arrested several hours later. Collins faces charges of felony domestic assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. She is being held without bond and more charges may be filed.
