The Kansas City Chiefs concluded their training camp stay at Missouri Western State University as they prepare for Saturday’s preseason matchup against the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs held a 10-10-10 practice to close out their time at Missouri Western. Thursday marked the team’s annual Military Appreciation Day, per camp tradition.
The team returns to Arrowhead for their second of three preseason games on Saturday, then will resume practicing at their training complex. The Chiefs host the Ravens in Week 1 in exactly three weeks.

Head coach Andy Reid said he expects the starters to play most of the first half in Saturday’s preseason game against the Lions at Arrowhead. The first-string offense played one series in Jacksonville.

Right tackle Jawaan Taylor did not practice after leaving practice early with a shoulder injury Wednesday.

Reid doesn’t expect him to play Saturday, but added “I think he’s going to be okay.”

Reid added time in the dorms at Missouri Western is valuable in building team chemistry,

Travis Kelce wrapped his 12th training camp in St. Joe.

Mahomes called the veteran’s work ethic at training camp “remarkable,” adding he’d have every reason to take on more of a coaching role, but chooses to get as many reps as possible.
