Around 1:30 AM Monday, deputies were called to assist Pocahontas Police with an armed suspect who had allegedly fired one round at Murphy USA at Walmart.
The suspect who was identified as Jared Forward from Texas was arrested after a standoff with police. PPD officers talked the suspect into surrendering his weapon and later into surrendering himself.
The incident is under investigation by PPD and the suspect faces several charges.
