
In Mountain Home on Sunday, a post was reported threatening the school. An investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the threat. The School says there will be an increase in Police patrols at the school. The school district informed parents of the threat and said that absences would be excused because of the threat.
Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen reporting that a post had been made on a social media platform directed towards “Marion County High School”, as well as threats made toward the Mountain Home Public Schools. Area law enforcement, school security, and school district personnel were notified for follow-up. Follow-up information was discovered showing a juvenile had been arrested in Marion County Kentucky on charges related to making threats toward the school districts. Additional information also revealed that several school-related threats had reportedly been made to both in-state and out-of-state schools.
Ozark County Authorities have warned parents about threats at Gainesville. The Sheriff’s office says they believe the threats are not credible and there will be extra patrolling around the school.
