KANSAS CITY, Mo. The Kansas City Royals beat Atlanta on Sunday 4-2.
The Royals clinched a spot in the Wild Card Series Friday night, but waited until Sunday to find out which team they would face.
It came down to the final game of the 2024 MLB regular season.
Due to a loss by the Detroit Tigers, the Royals will travel to Baltimore for at least two games later this week. None of the Wild Card Series games will be played in Kansas City.
Tickets for those games, and the ALDS, if the Royals win the Wild Card Series, are already on sale.
SAN FRANCISCO – Brendan Donovan hit a solo homer in the third and followed it up with an RBI single two innings later and Alec Burleson drove in three runs, leading the St. Louis Cardinals past the San Francisco Giants 6-1 on Sunday.
The Cardinals missed the playoffs for a second straight season after three consecutive wild-card defeats following an NL Championship Series berth in 2019. They finished 83-79, including 39-42 on the road while ending the season in San Francisco for the first time since 1960.
