Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative sent seven linemen to assist members in Georgia after Hurricane Helene made landfall. They traveled to Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (OREMC) headquartered in Nahunta, Ga., and assisted with the restoration of power to members.

Once completed yesterday, Sept. 30., HOEC linemen traveled about 85 miles north to Vidalia, Ga., where they reported to a tent city that was set up for linemen who would be working with one of three Georgia Cooperatives. Today, they started working a little more inland, working with Little Ocmulgee Electric Membership Corporation, continuing to restore power to members who lost service during the effects of Hurricane Helene.
