The Arkansas State Highway Commission has announced the approval of a bid for improvements to highway 223 in Izard County. The contract was awarded to R.L Person Construction Inc of Poplar Bluff at a cost of $1,910,640. The bid was for a bridge structure with concrete box culvert over little Brushy Creek on Arkansas 223. Construction is set to begin in two to four weeks.
