MEMPHIS, Tenn. — PJ Haggerty scored 22 of his 25 points in the second half when Memphis took over en route to an 83-75 win over Missouri in the season opener for both teams on Monday night.
Anthony Robinson II led Missouri with 16 points, while Tamar Bates and Trent Pierce both had 13 and Aidan Shaw 10.
INDIANAPOLIS — Jahmyl Telfort scored 29 points as Butler beat Missouri State 72-65 on Monday night in a season opener.
The Bears were led by Dez White, who recorded 21 points. Zaxton King added 12 points and five assists and Jalen Hampton had 10 points and six rebounds.
JONESBORO, Ark. – Joseph Pinion’s 16 points helped Arkansas State defeat Akron 80-75 in overtime on Monday night in a season opener.
Pinion shot 5 for 6, including 4 for 5 from beyond the arc for the Red Wolves (1-0). Derrian Ford scored 15 points and added seven rebounds. Kobe Julien went 6 of 16 from the field (1 for 6 from 3-point range) to finish with 14 points.
