Eminence School talks to parents about concerns over flooding

flooding-2

Monday night, the Eminence School Board talked to parents about their concerns after a group of students were ferried across a flooded road. Last Tuesday 22 students were ferried across the Sinking Creek Bridge which was covered in water. Crews strung cables across the water and used boats to take the kids to the other side. Parents were upset that school was not dismissed early because of the weather. Dr. Eric Allen the superintendent of Eminence School released the following statement.

“Eminence R-1 personnel have discussed and debriefed the scenario from Tuesday and are working on ways to improve district communication, both internally among district employees and externally with the parents and community. Having the most up to date weather information and the ability to communicate directly between the campus and the buses are key things we are going to improve on. We are also exploring how we could utilize Garmin satellite based products to enable communication between the buses and the main campus.”
