
The president of one regional university survives a vote of “no confidence.”
Thursday, after the the Senate Faculty of Missouri State University in Springfield gave a “no confidence” vote to MSU President survives vote of “no confidence”, the college’s board of governors ultimately, in a unanimous decision, voted to keep him.
The heat from Williams’ previous job in Utah has followed him to Springfield; last year, Williams was the president of Utah Tech, where he initiated what he considered to be a harmless joke. In November of 2023, Williams had left a display of vegetables assorted in such a way to depict male genitalia on the front porch of one of his vice presidents who, at the time, was recovering from a vasectomy.
That lawsuit was the basis for the MSU Senate Faculty’s “no confidence” vote; the case has yet to be settled in court.
