ST. LOUIS — Missouri State guard Dez White (Jefferson City, Mo.) was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week on Monday after a stellar week on the court for the Bears.
A transfer from Austin Peay, the junior standout averaged 19.3 points per game for the week with games against Boston College, South Dakota State, and Oral Roberts. He was also 50 percent (9-of-18) from 3-point range and made 90 percent of his free throws (17-of-19).
