The Thayer Bobcats traveled to Melbourne to play the Bearkatz on Friday. Thayer won the game 54-51 with a big game behind senior Devin Harrington who had 23 points including 4 dunks and 5 blocked shots. Easton Pitts added 17 points. The leading scorer for the Bearkatz was Hayden Edwards who had 14 points. The Bobcats are on the road next Thursday in the Lyon College Tournament.
The Thayer Lady Cats were also in action on Friday in the Billy Ply Memorial tournament in Flippin, Arkansas, where they played the Highland Lady Rebels. Highland defeated Thayer 64-56.
The West Plains Zizzer boys lost to Willard Friday night 77 to 68. West Plains will now play Springfield Glendale at 3 p.m. Saturday for third place in the Willard Tournament. The Zizzer boys are now 1 and 2 on the season.
The West Plains Lady Zizzers will play Clever at 2 pm Saturday afternoon for third place in the Fair Grove Tournament. Ramblin’ Rick will have the game on 100.9FM “The Train”.
