A West Plains man faces charges for allegedly baiting bears and trespassing in a state park.

According to reports, on December 17th, a park ranger interacted with 47-year-old Troy Andrew Rayfield, who had already been warned about trespassing in the park with a UTV. Rayfield allegedly admitted to the Ranger that he was using food, including corn, to bait bears off park property and straps and mounting hardware on trees in the park. Rayfield is charged with first-degree tampering, unlawfully taking wildlife in a state park, operating a motor vehicle in a non-designated area, and damaging State Park Property.
