41-year-old David Bennett of West Plains is being charged with two counts of assault in the second degree of a special victim and resisting arrest. These charges come after Bennett led law enforcement on a chase and drove in a patrol car, on Thursday night when deputies attempted to pull Bennett over near Moody, Missouri. He led them to a parking lot, where Bennett tried to back his truck into the Deputy’s patrol car. He then sped off almost hitting another deputy’s car. Deputies chased Bennett on State Route E, where Bennett drove into a ditch. Bennett tried to get out of the truck but was subdued with a taser. Bennett is being held in the Howell County Jail with a bond set at $25,000.
