
Heavy snow blankets the listening area today, as the result of a winter storm on Tuesday into this morning. Roads around Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri are reportedly mostly covered and authorities are advising motorists to use caution when traveling and if you can stay home and safe. Extremely cold temperatures are being reported throughout the area and even colder weather is expected overnight tonight with some areas seeing sub-zero temps. We are reminded to try to stay inside and warm and check on the elderly and those living alone to make sure they are alright. With the extreme cold remember to make sure the pets are in a warm safe area.
Dangerous cold continues today through Friday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect through Thursday morning with minimum wind chills around -10 to -20.

As of late last night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that since the winter storm began on Tuesday, they had answered 658 calls for service, with 248 stranded motorists, 230 crashes with 32 injuries, and no fatalities.
