Water in Pocahontas expected to crest Wednesday morning

Waters continue to rise in Pocahontas along the Black River. Authorities say they now expect the river to crest higher than they first expected. The river is now expected to crest at around 26.5 feet on Wednesday morning around 7 am. They first thought it would crest at 24 feet. Residents in the Robil Addition have been asked to prepare to evacuate. Flood water is expected to cover Highway 67 between Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge.
