Authorities say that the man barricaded himself in a home Sunday afternoon. The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Patrol says the man was armed with a knife, and after a standoff, he moved toward a deputy and a trooper. They ordered him to drop the knife, but he did not and continued to move toward them. The officers fired their weapons, hitting the man, who died at the scene.
