
SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State men’s basketball head coach Cuonzo Martin has added Georgia Tech transfer Darrion (DARR-ee-on) Sutton to the Bears roster for 2025-26.
The 6-foot-8 forward is originally from St. Charles, Missouri and spent the 2024-25 season at Georgia Tech where he played in 18 games with one start as a true freshman. He averaged 1.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists for the season but increased his playing time to nearly 15 minutes per game in Tech’s last 12 contests. He earned his first career start vs. Stanford on Feb. 12.
COLUMBIA MO.- University of Missouri men’s basketball officially added to its interior on Wednesday, signing 7-foot center Shawn Phillips Jr. from Arizona State.
Phillips played in 31 games with 12 starting assignments with the Sun Devils during the 2024-25 season, averaging 5.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.13 blocks per game in 18.0 minutes of action. The Dayton, Ohio, native played his best basketball down the stretch – starting 12 of the last 13 contests, while posting 7.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 24.6 minutes of action.
