The Prison announced the passing of 23-year-old John Freeman. Freeman died at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston early Tuesday morning. Freeman was serving a 7-year sentence for burglary, resisting arrest, and stealing a motor vehicle in St. Louis County. Freeman had been at the prison since September 2021. An autopsy will be conducted.
