The first accident happened at 12:40 on County Road 435 at Old Barn Road. The MSHP reports that a 39-year-old woman from Ava suffered moderate injuries when she exited the vehicle while it was still in gear and was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle then continued on and came to rest in a pond. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
The second accident happened at 4:15 Thursday on Missouri 19, one mile north of Eminence. According to reports, the 23-year-old man suffered serious injuries when the vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and hit a tree. The man was flown to Mercy Hospital.
