Oregon County Assessor Doug Bridges is warning residents about people allegedly claiming to be assessing in the county and entering people’s homes. Bridges said that on two different occasions this week, they have had phone calls from county residents stating that someone was on their property claiming to be assessing. In one case, they told a gentleman he needed to clean/remove things from his property, such as scrap metal. In another case, they entered the home and said they were doing an SB190 review, took pictures, and asked for their bank statements. Bridges said, no one from the Assessor’s Office besides himself will ever be out working the county! He said that his office will never ask to enter your home! They will always be driving the County Assessor’s vehicle, and he will be present.
