
An inmate at South Central Correction Facility has been charged with allegedly assaulting an officer. 22-year-old Brian Vance allegedly refused to allow himself to be placed on a restraint bench. According to a report, Vance struck the victim 14 times using his right arm and elbow. He later struck with his right arm before hitting him two times with his head. The officer repositioned himself as Vance struck the victim four more times with his right arm and elbow. According to court documents, the officer stopped the assault by using pepper spray. In an indictment handed down by a grand jury, Brian Vance is charged with violence against a correctional department employee. Vance was in prison for Arson and tampering with a motor vehicle.
